THANDUXOLO FUMBATA – Executive
Thanduxolo Fumbata is a seasoned engineer who has more than ten years of industrial experience in railways engineering, design and consulting. He worked at Transnet Freight Rail (ex-Spoornet) as an Engineer and Technology Manager. His responsibilities included design of rolling stock components, derailment investigations, technical audits, project management, procurement and supply of railway components and development of maintenance specifications. He also used fracture mechanics to develop a fatigue based preventive maintenance schedule for rail coupling system components. He had the responsibility of managing and leading a team of engineers and technicians.
He also worked for a consulting firm Nine Dot Solutions as a Design Engineer responsible for design and technical design audits for bulk handling material. He also worked at Walter Sisulu University as a part time lecturer in the Engineering Department in East London.
Thanduxolo accepted a post as a General Manager responsible for development of Rail & Maritime with the Department of Roads & Transport in the Eastern Cape. His responsibilities included leading and managing the operations of the award winning Kei Rail Project. These responsibilities also meant that he was also the nominated manager in terms of the RSR Act 16 of 2002 and adherence to SANS 3000.
He co-founded Kusile Capital and Kamva Consulting Services (the latter, a subsidiary of the former). He is responsible for the Engineering Consulting Division. He completed a BSc (Eng) at the University of Cape Town.
PHINDILE NCEDE – Executive
Phindile started his career at STANLIB Asset Management initially assisting the deputy CEO in fund management specifically with the allocated portion of the PIC fund, and later assisting the Chief Economist in economic analysis and research. He was also involved in asset allocation, investment strategy of the absolute return fund and assisting equity research analysts with input data from different industries. He was appointed as a Post-Investment Associate at the National Empowerment Fund (NEF) with primary functions for monitoring and business support. He has received training on DCF Valuation and Modelling, Merger Modelling, Debt Restructuring. He has also been trained in the programme for private equity by SAVCA. He graduated at the University of the Witwatersrand with a BEconSc qualification.
He is currently the executive member at Kusile Capital with the responsibility for the Advisory and Risk Management Division. He has also served as an audit committee member of Aspire (Pty) Ltd (Amathole Economic Development Agency). He is also a Member of the Institute of Risk Management SOUTH AFRICA (IRMSA).
His main interests are in operational risk management and the creation of value in investment projects.
